Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution “On additional measures to comprehensively support and improve the living standards of the older generation” was adopted.

In accordance with the resolution, material and moral support will be provided to socially active representatives of the older generation who take the initiative in implementing the principle "One representative of the older generation is responsible for ten young people."

The procedure for terminating an employment contract concluded with an employee is prohibited in connection with the achievement of retirement age, at the initiative of the employer.

From 1 April 2022:

- Lonely elderly citizens in need of outside care, and elderly citizens living alone are sent once a year to sanatoriums for recovery free of charge;

- low-income elderly citizens with difficult conditions are purchased medicines, medical and special prosthetic and orthopedic products based on doctors’ prescriptions based on a three-month need, and the costs of surgical operations are also covered;

- senior citizens with a diagnosis of serious illnesses and senior citizens with disabilities are compensated for up to 50 percent of the cost of medicines based on doctor’s prescriptions based on a three-month need;

- representatives of the older generation are covered for the purchase of subscriptions for physical culture and sports;

- representatives of the older generation are fully covered for the cost of tickets to state theaters and museums.

Until 1 September 2022, regular newsletters will be organized regarding representatives of the older generation by sending SMS messages to their mobile phone numbers.
