Uzbekistan to assume SCO presidency

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will assume the presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) at the organizations summit in Russian city of Yekaterinburg.

The country will take on presidency from Russia and chair the organization in 2009/2010.

The SCO is regional organization, which unites Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and China.
