Uzbekistan to assume rotating SCO presidency
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbekistan will assume rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) from Russia, representative of the Russian President on SCO Affairs Bakhtiyor Khakimov said.
The Russian city Ufa is hosting BRICS and SCO summits on 8-10 July as Russia is holding presidency in both organizations. Russia assume rotating SCO presidency in September 2014.
Khakimov noted that the summit of the SCO leaders is a culmination of the Russian presidency and the Russian side will some up its work and determine how the SCO will work under presidency of Uzbekistan, which will assume rotating presidency in the organization, the RIA Novosti reported.
