Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 May 2025, products and services certified according to the standards of the Standards and Metrology Institute of Islamic Countries (SMIIC) will be allowed to be marked with the "Halal" symbol in Uzbekistan.

The relevant government decree was adopted on 1 February 2025.

The document, in particular, approves the procedure for certifying products and services in compliance with "Halal" requirements.

Additionally, a state certification body for products and services in accordance with "Halal" standards will be established and accredited under the Agency for Technical Regulation.
