Uzbekistan temporarily suspends the procedure for mandatory labeling of imported food products in the state language

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Decree "On additional measures to ensure price stability in consumer markets and increase the effectiveness of antimonopoly measures" was adopted.

According to the Decree, from 1 May 2022 to 1 January 2023, zero customs duty rates are set for the import of a number of goods (including fish, fresh or dried citrus fruits (except lemons), margarine and others). 

From 1 June 2022, it is temporarily prohibited to export (export) outside of Uzbekistan:

- vegetable oil, including cottonseed, sunflower oil;

- seeds and fruits of sunflower and other oil-bearing plants.

Until 1 January 2023, restrictions on the purchase of imported food products by state customers as part of public procurement and the procedure for mandatory labeling in the state language of food products imported into Uzbekistan are temporarily suspended.

Until 1, 2022, a mechanism for additional accumulation and intervention in the open market of basic food products will be introduced.
