Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan ranked 29th in the World Giving Index, which was presented by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
CAF has conducted research on human generosity and willingness to help others in 114 countries. They studied both the willingness of people to donate money to various charitable projects and engage in free volunteer work, and the simple willingness to help a stranger - feed him or share his last shirt with him.
According to a CAF report, 57% of Uzbekistan’s population is willing to help a stranger. CAF notes that 46% of Uzbekistan’s residents donate money, and 16% of the country’s citizens are engaged in volunteering.
Indonesia topped the 2021 ranking. Kenya came in second and Nigeria came in third. The last place (114) in the ranking is occupied by Japan.
