During the meeting, the Swiss side got acquainted with the information on the current development of Uzbekistan, macroeconomic indicators, measures of the Government of the Republic of modernization and technological re-equipment of industrial enterprises, further improvement of the investment climate, as well as government programs aimed at the social and infrastructural development in the country.
The two sides exchanged information on the state and prospects of further expansion of mutual trade and economic and investment cooperation. It was pointed out the huge potential in bilateral economic relations, Jahon news agency reported.
In this connection, an agreement was reached on the implementation of specific measures aimed at strengthening cooperation in the investment sphere. In particular, a visit to Uzbekistan will be soon organized, the delegation of the Swiss companies to discuss joint implementation of specific investment projects, including those in the pharmaceutical, textile, food, chemical, engineering, electrical and other industries.
After the meeting it signed the final protocol of the Commission and the intergovernmental agreement on the project "Skills Development in Uzbekistan, Phase IV".
The next day in Zurich hosted the Uzbek-Swiss business forum, during which the presentations of economic potential of Uzbekistan and future priority projects in the leading sectors of the economy. The event was attended by over 60 representatives of leading Swiss industrial companies and banks.
Speaking at the forum, representatives of business circles of Switzerland noted the dynamic development of the Uzbek economy, deep structural changes, the creation of new high-tech industries, favorable investment climate and opportunities for successful investment activity.
Presented at the forum on the privatization program has caused great interest of its Swiss companies aimed at creating new foreign companies, which will produce more export-oriented products based on advanced technologies.
