Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is implementing a mandatory requirement for laboratory testing of palm oil and products containing palm oil and trans fats. This is stipulated by a presidential resolution issued on 30 January.
Starting from 1 March, to obtain a sanitary-epidemiological certificate for imported palm oil, as well as products containing palm oil and trans fatty acids (trans fats), including milk and dairy products, mandatory testing will be required in accredited laboratories.
The inspections will be carried out in accordance with the existing technical regulations and standards.
Additionally, oversight of palm oil usage in domestic food products will be strengthened. Regulatory authorities will conduct inspections at companies involved in the production, transportation, storage, and sale of food products.
