Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan took the border with Afghanistan under increased control. This was told by Lieutenant Colonel Abror Berdiev in an interview with Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

According to him, the protection of the state border of Uzbekistan is carried out in an enhanced mode.

Measures have been taken to ensure safety. An operational headquarters was deployed in Termez, which included the heads of power structures and representatives of state authorities.

Berdiev noted that part of the border troops in Surkhandarya region was transferred to a high security regime. To carry out the tasks, units of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard were transferred to combat duty.
