Uzbekistan starts to produce wheelchairs

Uzbekistan started to produce wheelchairs and go-carts for people with special needs, which were developed based on foreign experience and wishes of people with the disabilities.
Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan purchased wheelchairs of new example in April 2015, the press service of the ministry said.
Within the joint project of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan and the UNDP studied foreign experience and modern specifications for rehabilitation equipment to meet demands of population in quality and cheep rehabilitation equipment.
The seminar was held with potential producers of rehabilitation equipment, which currently produce spare parts for automobile, bicycles and motor equipment.
Within the seminar, the produces received modern examples of rehabilitation equipment and technical documentations. The seminar was attended by people with special needs, who shared their wishes for new wheelchairs.
After studying documentations and examples, the producers developed and produced pilot samples of wheelchairs, go-carts and other rehabilitation equipment.
