Uzbekistan Signs Agreement with ASTM to Expand the Number of Standards

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Washington, D.C. (United States), Uzbekistan’s Agency for Technical Regulation and the international organization ASTM International signed a cooperation agreement in the field of standardization.

The document is aimed at introducing international standards, improving product quality, and enhancing production processes across various sectors of the country’s economy.

At present, around 400 ASTM standards are applied in Uzbekistan’s oil and gas sector as well as in other industrial industries.

In 2026, an additional 300 standards are planned to be introduced, which is expected to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of domestic production.

The agreement also provides for the organization of training courses and practical workshops in Tashkent, as well as the implementation of joint projects focused on experience exchange and the training of specialists in modern international standards.
