Uzbekistan shows interest in developing Afghan natural resources

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Afghanistan, Abdul Salam Hanafi, responsible for administrative affairs, visited Uzbekistan for talks with the country’s Prime Minister, Abdulla Aripov.

The meeting, according to the Taliban’s media center, focused on several key topics, including political cooperation, economic collaboration, and cultural projects.

The Afghan side stated that Abdul Salam Hanafi highlighted the historical and friendly nature of relations between the two nations, emphasizing their significance in the regional context.

In response, Abdulla Aripov expressed Uzbekistan’s interest in developing Afghanistan’s natural resources and facilitating the transit of goods through Afghan territory to other countries.

Despite the global community, including Uzbekistan, not officially recognizing the Taliban regime, bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan continue to evolve, with a particular focus on economic and trade cooperation.

Hanafi’s visit occurred just two weeks after his previous trip to Uzbekistan, during which he held discussions with Uzbek officials and met with Afghan entrepreneurs to explore ways of strengthening economic ties.
