Uzbekistan Showcases Tourism Potential at OTM-2026 in Mumbai
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is participating in one of South Asia’s largest international tourism fairs, OTM-2026 (Outbound Travel Market), which has opened in Mumbai, India’s financial capital.
With organizational support from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in New Delhi, the Uzbek delegation includes representatives from the Tourism Committee and leading national tour operators.
OTM-2026 serves as a key professional platform for South Asian countries, annually bringing together thousands of tourism industry participants — tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, media, and industry organizations from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, as well as countries from the Middle East and Europe.
Uzbekistan’s participation provides direct access to one of the most dynamically growing outbound tourism markets and holds strategic significance for promoting the country’s national tourism offerings.
At the exhibition, Uzbekistan is presenting its diverse tourism potential, including cultural-historical, gastronomic, ecological, event-based, and MICE tourism. This creates opportunities to expand cooperation with key players in the Indian and regional markets and strengthens bilateral tourism dialogue between Uzbekistan and India.
A positive outcome of ongoing collaboration is the growth in tourist flow: in 2025, approximately 80,000 Indian tourists visited Uzbekistan, an increase of 15% compared to the previous year. The sector aims to attract 100,000 Indian travelers in 2026.
The national stand highlights new tourism routes, cultural programs, information on simplified visa procedures, and improved transport accessibility. The exhibition program also includes B2B meetings, presentations, and cultural events aimed at fostering partnerships.
OTM-2026 will conclude on 7 February 2026.
