Uzbekistan showcases support for women and startups at international forum in Kazan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Last week, Orzigul Kozikhonova, Chair of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on Youth, Women, Culture, and Sports, participated in the “Women’s Perspective” session during the 16th International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum,” held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.
The session brought together over 300 participants from 20 countries, including women leaders from government institutions, business, academia, and civil society. Discussions focused on women’s leadership, economic participation, entrepreneurship development, and the strengthening of international cooperation.
Participants shared their experiences and explored new avenues for expanding global partnerships.
In her address, Senator Kozikhonova highlighted Uzbekistan’s national policy aimed at protecting women's rights and interests, unlocking their potential, supporting startups and innovative projects, and promoting women’s engagement in education, healthcare, and business. She also presented the country’s efforts to enhance women’s economic roles and their participation in public life.
On the sidelines of the forum, Orzigul Kozikhonova held a number of bilateral meetings focused on deepening cooperation and exchanging best practices.
