Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Regulation on the procedure for state registration of the genome was approved by the Government resolution.
According to the Regulation, the State Genome List is maintained by the Main Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Genomic state registration is an activity associated with the use of biological material, the processing of genomic information to establish the identity of a person, an unidentified corpse.
Are subject to mandatory registration in accordance with the genome:
- those who have committed grave and especially grave crimes, crimes against sexual freedom, crimes related to sexual intercourse with persons under the age of 16 and committing obscene acts against them;
- attracted as suspects or accused of committing grave and especially grave crimes;
- unidentified persons whose biological material was obtained during the pre-investigative check, inquiry and preliminary investigation;
- unidentified corpses.
Penitentiary institutions and probation services form lists of persons subject to mandatory registration by genome.
Voluntary state registration of the genome is carried out on a paid basis upon a written application from citizens.
This procedure comes into force on 1 January 2023.
