Uzbekistan sends its first block train to Brazil
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 December 2024, the first block train from Uzbekistan to Brazil departed from the First Dry Port Terminal (FDP) in Tashkent.
According to LogiStan at FDP, the train consisted of 54 forty-foot containers, each carrying 28 tons of urea.
The train’s route passes through Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. At the port of Poti, the containers will be reloaded onto a vessel for maritime transport to the port of Paranaguá in Brazil, explained a representative of the First Dry Port Terminal.
The sender of the cargo is Uzkimyoimpeks, the sole agent for export and import operations in Uzbekistan's chemical industry.
The estimated delivery time is 60 to 70 days. The containers are expected to reach Poti within 20 days, while the maritime journey will take approximately 35–45 days.
