Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 August 2020, in Moscow, within the framework of the visit of the government delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk, during which discussed a wide range of issues of trade, economic, investment and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
The high level of trusting relations between the two countries was noted, as well as the open and constructive nature of bilateral interaction at various levels. Having positively assessed the dynamics of cooperation in priority areas, the parties came to a common opinion that it is promising to work out new areas of economic partnership and industrial cooperation in order to reach specific agreements.
Prospects for organizing mutual visits of heads of ministries, departments and regional administrations, as well as business representatives to work out new investment projects and conclude trade contracts as the epidemiological situation in Russia and Uzbekistan stabilized, were considered.
The parties also agreed to establish close coordination of the involved ministries and departments of the two states in order to carry out a number of planned joint events, including the II Forum of Interregional Cooperation, the opening of an exhibition and cultural center of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the territory of VDNH, the National Exhibition "Made in Uzbekistan" in St. Moscow, Educational Forum and Media Forum.
Particular attention was paid to the issue of creating decent conditions for the activities of Uzbek migrant citizens who are on the territory of the Russian Federation, bearing in mind the introduction of transparent mechanisms for organizing the labor activity of Uzbek citizens in the Russian Federation.
In this context, the possibilities of practical cooperation and implementation of specific measures were considered, including the accelerated conclusion of relevant intergovernmental agreements, as well as the creation of special mechanisms in the field of labor migration.
Following the meeting, they agreed on joint measures to promote bilateral cooperation in the near future, and identified specific measures for further interaction within the designated areas.
