Uzbekistan registers 4,025 intellectual properties

The agency said that about 324 of them are inventions, 188 – useful models, 201 – industrial samples, 2,708 – trademarks, 591 software and databases and 13 – selection achievements.

The agency underlined that since its launch it received 12,066 applications for registration of intellectual property, of which 1,005 applications were submitted for registration of inventions, 291 – useful models, 317 – industrial samples, 9,842 – trademarks, 598 – software and databases and 13 – selection achievements.

The Agency for Intellectual Property of Uzbekistan noted that its employees carry out monitoring on illegal use of intellectual property. Similar works were also conducted in 2012.

During 2012, one criminal case and 88 administrative cases were opened on illegal use of intellectual property. Goods for 12.3 million soums were destroyed.
