Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A shipment of humanitarian cargo from the United States arrived at the Islam Karimov International Airport in Tashkent.

The cargo worth US$330,000 was provided by the Global Jewish Assistance and Relief Network and the World Congress of Bukharian Jews (USA), Dunyo news agency reported.

The cargo was sent in order to facilitate the creation of a fund of medical supplies for medical institutions in Uzbekistan in connection with the new waves and mutations of the coronavirus.

The batch included N95 respirator masks in the amount of more than 165 thousand pieces, KN95 - 4,000 pieces and three-layer masks - 100 thousand pieces. The received medical masks will be sent to the appropriate medical institutions of the republic in the near future. In general, humanitarian aid consists of about 270 thousand medical respiratory masks of various types.

It is expected that the second part of the cargo will arrive in the republic on the next flights of Uzbekistan Airways.
