Uzbekistan Receives 202 New Yutong Electric Buses
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A ceremonial event was held in Tashkent to mark the arrival of 202 new Yutong electric buses delivered from China.
The ceremony was attended by the city hokim, the Minister of Transport, deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, representatives of the Public Council under the Ministry of Transport and the Tashkent hokimiyat, as well as media representatives and bloggers.
Speaking at the event, Transport Minister Ilhom Makhkamov highlighted the scale of reforms initiated by the President of Uzbekistan aimed at developing the public transport system and creating comfortable conditions for city residents.
He congratulated the drivers and staff of JSC Toshshaharttranskhizmat on receiving the new fleet, emphasizing the importance of their work in providing high-quality service to passengers.
The new environmentally friendly electric buses are expected to play a key role in improving urban ecology and advancing the city’s transport system. Thanks to the recent fleet updates, harmful emissions have been reduced by 93.3 tons per month.
It is planned that by 2030, electric buses will account for 50 percent of public transport in Tashkent, marking another step in the implementation of the city’s ecological and transport strategy.
