Uzbekistan ratifies CIS delegation status convention
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree officially ratifying the international Convention on the Legal Status of Delegations of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The convention, originally signed on 8 October 2024, in Moscow, now formally enters into force in Uzbekistan.
Under the decree, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan is designated as the competent authority responsible for implementing the provisions of the convention. The ministry is required to notify the depositary once all domestic procedures for ratification are completed and to designate the agency responsible for overseeing compliance.
The adoption of this decree provides a clear legal basis for the activities of Uzbekistan’s delegations within the CIS framework and reinforces the country’s standing in international intergovernmental processes.
