Uzbekistan Ranks 55th Globally by GDP PPP in 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2026, Uzbekistan ranks 55th in the world in terms of GDP at purchasing power parity (PPP), according to a visual global economy ranking published by Visual Capitalist, which orders countries based on the purchasing power of their currencies.
According to the International Monetary Fund, the total global economy in 2026 is projected to reach approximately US$219 trillion in PPP terms. “Comparing economies using PPP presents a very different global ranking than using nominal GDP,” the visualization notes.
While the United States remains the largest economy by nominal GDP, China has led the world in PPP since 2014. China’s economy is estimated at US$43.5 trillion, while the U.S. GDP in PPP terms amounts to US$31.8 trillion.
Asia as a whole accounts for nearly half of the global economy, showing steady growth and strengthening the continent’s position as a center of international trade and production. India ranks third with US$19.1 trillion, Japan US$6.9 trillion, Indonesia US$5.4 trillion, and South Korea US$3.5 trillion. “The difference between nominal GDP and PPP reflects the lower cost of living in these countries, increasing their real economic power,” Visual Capitalist explains.
In the global PPP ranking, Uzbekistan, with an economy of approximately US$511 billion, sits alongside Portugal (US$556 billion), Denmark (US$529 billion), and Greece (US$485 billion), confirming its position among the world’s middle economies and demonstrating gradual strengthening of its economic potential on the international stage.
