Uzbekistan Promotes Its Tourism Potential in Malaysia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new roadshow aimed at promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential was held in Malaysia.

The initiative was organized with the participation of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan Airways, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia.

The event was conducted in accordance with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan No. 6 dated January 9, 2026, “On Additional Measures to Implement the ‘Umrah Plus’ Pilgrimage Tourism Program.” Around 30 Uzbek business entities participated in B2B meetings with more than 50 representatives of Malaysia’s tourism and service industries.

Participants were presented with detailed presentations on the opportunities for pilgrimage, cultural, historical, and gastronomic tourism in Uzbekistan, as well as information about the favorable conditions created under the “Umrah Plus” program.

During the discussions, prospects for establishing mutually beneficial cooperation, developing joint tourism products, and increasing the flow of tourists between the two countries were addressed.

The roadshow contributes to strengthening Uzbekistan’s position in the international tourism market, expanding tourism cooperation with Malaysia, and creating new opportunities for investment in the country’s tourism sector.
