Uzbekistan produces industrial goods for 114 trillion soums in 1Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-March 2022, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 114.0 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the same period in 2021 amounted to 105.7%, the State Statistics Committee said.

In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (80.5%), the volume of production of which amounted to 91.7 trillion soums.

The main factors in the growth of the physical volume of industrial production was its increase in manufacturing enterprises by 5.9%. Also recorded was an increase in the mining industry by 0.8%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 15.5%. At the same time, there is a decrease in the volume of production at water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal enterprises by 17.2%.

The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-March 2022 amounted to 12.3 trillion soums, or 10.8% of the total industry.

In January-March 2022, manufacturing enterprises produced goods worth 91.7 trillion soums, or 80.5% of the total industry.

In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries was 2.7% (2.5% in January-March 2021), medium-tech - 22.5% (19.2%), medium-low-tech - 38.0% (40.1%) and low-tech - 36.8% (38.2%).

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, installation of machinery and equipment, the production of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, and other finished metal products amounted to 15.4% (the index of physical volume by January-March 2021 was 129.1%), metallurgical industry - 21.8% (volume index by January-March 2021 amounted to 104.0%), enterprises for the production of textiles, clothing, leather products - 15.6% (volume index by January-March 2021 amounted to 103.6%).

In the total volume of industry, the share of enterprises for the production of food, beverages and tobacco products amounted to 11.9% (the index of physical volume by January-March 2021 was 103.3%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 7.4% (volume index by January-March 2021 amounted to 89.5%).

In January-March 2022, 288.6 thousand tons of motor gasoline were produced in the republic (compared to the corresponding period of 2021, a decrease of 0.9%), 143.5 thousand tons of cotton yarn (a decrease of 5.0%), 34.8 million liters of beer (a decrease of 14.6%) and 435.3 thousand tons of flour from soft wheat and spelled (a decrease of 4.0%).

In January-March 2022, large enterprises of the republic produced 870 trucks (by the corresponding period in 2021, the volume of production decreased by 2.6%).

In January-March 2022, large enterprises of the republic produced 129 buses (by the corresponding period of 2021, the volume of production decreased by 12.2%).

In January-March 2022, more than 52.0 thousand pieces of car engines were produced in the republic (an increase of 64.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2021).

In January-March 2022, 956 pieces of transformers were produced in the republic (by January-March 2021, the volume of production decreased by 14.0%).

In January-March 2022, 151.6 tons of “sandwich” panels were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2021, a decrease in production by 91.6%* was recorded).

In January-March 2022, the engineering industry produced 186.5 thousand lead-acid batteries for starting piston engines (an increase in production by 22.0% was recorded against the corresponding period of 2021).

In the automotive industry, in January-March 2022, 19 192 Cobalt vehicles were produced (growth rates increased by 51.3% compared to the same period in 2021), 6,572 Nexia vehicles (5.5% decrease), 19 439 - "Gentra" (an increase of 2.3 times), 2 494 - "Spark" (a 38.6% increase), 3 879 - specialized cars (an increase of 51.3%) and 17 329 - "Damas" (growth rates increased by 43.8%).

The overhaul of technological equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceed the production figures of the previous year for the production of disodium carbonate (113.7% compared to January-March 2021). At the same time, there is a decrease in the production of paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers in the aquatic environment (89.4%).

If in January-March 2021 the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 28.2%, and the physical volume index increased by 7.9%, then in January-March 2022 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry amounted to 27.1%, the index of physical volume increased by 4.0%, while the volume of production amounted to 24 814.0 billion soums.

In January-March 2021, the share of production of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 4.8%, while the physical volume index, compared to the same period in 2020, reached 102.7%.

In January-March 2022, the share of other non-metallic mineral products amounted to 4.0%, the index of physical volume of production decreased by 2.1%, and the volume of production amounted to 3 635.8 billion soums.

If in January-March 2021 the share of food production in the volume of the manufacturing industry was 13.5%, and the physical volume index reached 107.5%, then in January-March 2022 the share of food products amounted to 11.8%, the index the same physical volume - 103.9%, and the total production - 10 808.7 billion soums.

According to the results of January-March 2021, the share of beverage production in the

structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 2.3%, while the physical volume

index, in relation to the same period in 2020, amounted to 106.2%.

In January-March 2022, the share of beverage production amounted to 2.4%, the physical volume index - 104.4%, and the volume of production reached 2 211.0 billion soums.

According to the results of January-March 2021, the share of textile production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 15.7%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2020, amounted to 119.1%.

In January-March 2022, the share of textile production amounted to 15.8%, the volume index increased by 3.8%, and the volume of production became 14 504.5 billion soums.

If in January-March 2021 the share of clothing production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3.3%, and the physical volume index was 109.8%, then in January-March 2022 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 3.1%, the index physical volume - 102.6%, the volume of production became equal to 2 837.0 billion soums.

In January-March 2021, the share of chemical production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 8.0%, while the physical volume index, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 120.5%.

In January-March 2022, the share of chemical products amounted to 7.4%, the index of physical volume of production decreased by 14.9%, and the volume of production amounted to 6 812.7 billion soums.

According to the results of January-March 2021, the share of production of coke and products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 3.1%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2020, amounted to 62.4%.

In January-March 2022, the share of production of coke and refined petroleum products amounted to 2.6%, the physical volume index decreased by 22.4%, and the production volume amounted to 2 340.2 billion soums.

According to the results of January-March 2021, the share of the production of rubber and plastic products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 1.8%, while the physical volume index reached 105.6%.

In January-March 2022, the share of this industry amounted to 1.8%, the physical volume index - 107.3%, production volume – 1 651.2 billion soums.

In January-March 2021, the share of electrical equipment production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 2.4%, while the physical volume index, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 108.7%.

In January-March 2022, the share of this industry amounted to 2.7%, the index of physical volume of production - 104.4%, and the volume of production – 2 471.8 billion soums.

According to the results of January-March 2021, the share of production of metal products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 1.9%, while the index of physical volume, in relation to the same period in 2020, amounted to 106.5%.

In January-March 2022, the share of this industry amounted to 2.2%, the physical volume index - 102.9%, and the volume of production – 2 058.1 billion soums.

According to the results of January-March 2021, the share of motor vehicle production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 7.6%, while the physical volume index, compared to the same period in 2020, was 61.9%.

In January-March 2022, the share of this industry amounted to 11.3%, the physical volume index - 171.4%, the volume of production reached 10 366.9 billion soums.

The volume of products produced by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning enterprises in the period under review amounted to 9.3 trillion soums (8.1% of the total industry).

The index of the physical volume of the industry, compared with the corresponding period of 2021, increased by 15.5%.

The volume of products produced by water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal enterprises in January-March 2022 amounted to 0.7 trillion soums (0.6% of the total industry).

Compared to the corresponding period of 2021, in January-March 2022, there was an increase in the production of textile waste by 23.4%, services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment - by 36.6%, as well as services for emptying, cleaning and treatment of cesspools, sedimentation tanks and septic tanks - by 1.2%.

As a result of the measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the release of finished products, the production of consumer goods in January-March 2022 amounted to 36.3 trillion soums and, compared with the corresponding period in 2021, the growth rate reached 124.0%, the share in the total the volume of industry amounted to 31.8%.

In January-March 2022 in the Republic 11,9 trillion soums developed food products increased by 7,1% compared to the corresponding period of January - March of 2021.

In the structure of food production, the production of wine, vodka and beer in January-March 2022 amounted to 6.1% (7.5% in January-March 2021).

The largest growth in the production of consumer goods was recorded in Jizzakh (195.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2021), Andijan (157.8%) and Khorezm (131.1%) regions, exceeding the average for the republic (124.0%).

In the structure of consumer goods production of the republic in January-March 2022, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (22.8% of the total volume of consumer goods), Andijan (20.5%), Tashkent (11.6%) and Samarkand (11.2%) of the region.

In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic in January-March 2022, the largest share falls on Andijan region (28.2% of the total volume of non-food products), Tashkent city (22.7%), Samarkand (11.2%), Tashkent (7.0%) regions.

In the structure of food production of the republic in January-March 2022, the  largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (22.9% of the total volume of food products), Tashkent (21.0%) and Samarkand (11.4%) regions.

In the total volume of industrial production of the republic in January-March 2022, the largest share falls on the Tashkent (18.4%) and Navoi (17.7%) regions, as well as on the city of Tashkent (16.6% of the total volume of industrial goods).

An analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita for January-March 2022 showed an excess of the average republican indicator (3 224.4 thousand soums) in Navoi (19 512.9 thousand soums), Tashkent (7 132.1 thousand soums) regions and Tashkent city (6 594.4 thousand soums).

In January-March 2022, small businesses produced products worth 24.6 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production amounted to 21.6%.

The production of consumer goods per capita in January-March 2022 in the republic amounted to 1 026.7 thousand soums, including in Tashkent city – 2878.5 thousand soums, Andijan region – 2 279.2 thousand soums, Tashkent region - 1 426.1 thousand soums, Khorezm region – 1 222.0 thousand soums.

Today, 92.1 thousand industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 16.0 thousand (17.4% of the total number of operating enterprises) are located in Tashkent, 10.1 thousand (11.0%) - Fergana, 9.5 thousand (10.3%) - Andijan, 9.3 thousand (10.1%) - Tashkent and 8.2 thousand (8.9%) – Samarkand regions.

The development of industrial production of the republic was also facilitated by the implementation of the Program for localization of production of finished products, components and materials, within the framework of which 1 660 projects produced products worth 7.3 trillion soums, exported localized products worth 73.5 million US dollars, created 4 047.0 new jobs.

Compared to the same period in 2021, in January-March 2022, the number of newly created jobs increased by 57.8%. At the same time, if compared with January-March 2021, there is an increase in the volume of exports of localized products.
