Uzbekistan Prioritizes Modernization of Agriculture, Industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Modernization of agriculture and the expansion of industrial cooperation remain key priorities for Uzbekistan’s development.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev during a meeting with Peter Sachse, Vice President for CIS countries at John Deere, where prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation were discussed.
The parties highlighted the importance of implementing the Joint Development Agreement signed in February 2026 and emphasized the company’s strong interest in actively participating in the development of Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.
A presidential decree dated 13 March 2026 set the goal of increasing mechanized cotton harvesting to 70% this year, creating growing demand for modern agricultural machinery and innovative solutions.
In this context, particular attention is being given to long-term partnerships, including modernization of existing service centers, establishment of new facilities based on modern concepts, localization of production, and expansion of presence in Central Asian markets.
Uzbekistan remains open to further deepening cooperation and implementing mutually beneficial projects with international companies.
