Uzbekistan presents report on preparations for the 43rd Session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 April 2025, a plenary session of the 221st meeting of the Executive Board of UNESCO was held at the organization's headquarters in Paris.
During the session, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan presented a detailed report on the progress of preparations for the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, scheduled to take place from 30 October to 13 November 2025, in the city of Samarkand.
The report provided comprehensive information on the extensive organizational work being carried out by Uzbekistan to ensure the successful hosting of this major international forum. Special attention was given to creating favorable conditions for the full participation of all UNESCO member states, including issues related to logistics, infrastructure, and interagency coordination.
Members of the Executive Board highly praised Uzbekistan's efforts to ensure the high quality of preparations for the session, expressing gratitude for active engagement with member states and support in ensuring their participation.
Ahead of the meeting, on 14–15 April 2025, special informational sessions were organized at UNESCO’s headquarters for representatives of member states.
During these sessions, representatives from Uzbekistan’s relevant ministries and agencies delivered detailed presentations covering key aspects of the preparation process — from the introduction of a simplified visa regime and organization of international and domestic transportation to the preparation of conference spaces, hotel accommodations, offices for delegations, as well as cultural and tourism programs.
Additionally, separate consultations were held with representatives from all regional groups of UNESCO member states, during which organizational issues and coordination of efforts were discussed.
During the visit, the Uzbek delegation also held a series of working meetings with the leadership and representatives of the UNESCO Secretariat, where further collaboration and practical implementation of activities planned for the 43rd session of the General Conference were discussed.
