Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to send 1.1 trillion. soums for the modernization of landfills in 2023-2025. This was stated by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

In particular, in 2023 it is planned to allocate 170 billion soums for the reclamation and construction of landfills.

About 27.8 billion soums will be directed to the creation of landfills for construction waste and 92.2 billion soums - to the organization of transshipment stations.

It is also planned to allocate 50 billion soums for the construction of sites for the disposal of medical waste.

According to the Ministry, in the near future it is planned to reclaim 29 solid waste landfills and build 437 garbage collection points. Also, 26 construction waste landfills will be organized, as well as 60 medical waste disposal sites will be created.

It is planned to purchase 18.8 thousand garbage containers for social facilities.
