Uzbekistan plans to produce construction materials worth 50 trillion soums in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Under the government-approved programs for 2025–2026, Uzbekistan plans to implement 346 projects with a total value of US$3.6 billion. These initiatives are expected to create approximately 19,400 new jobs across various regions of the country, according to the Uzpromstroymaterialy Association.

Between January and April 2025, enterprises in the construction sector produced goods worth 12.1 trillion soums, which accounts for 108% of the planned volume and represents an 11.8% increase compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, 5.3 million tonnes of cement were produced—10% more than in the previous year; 18.5 million square meters of construction glass—a 20% increase; 15.4 million square meters of ceramic tiles—a growth of 14.1%; 24 million square meters of gypsum board—4.3% higher; 265,000 units of ceramic sanitaryware—an increase of 1.2 times; and 1,800 tonnes of wallpaper, which is 101.1% of last year's figure.

This strong growth in the industry has been driven primarily by the launch of new production facilities last year and the efficient utilization of existing ones.

Major projects that came online include: Everest Metall Grand LLC in the Andijan district, with an annual production capacity of 25,000 tonnes of thermal insulation materials; Zhong Peng Ceramics Group International LLC in Angren, producing 7.5 million square meters of large-format ceramic tiles; Hua Tao Ceramic Group LLC in Akhangaran, with an output of 6 million square meters of ceramic tiles; and Khorezm Insulation Group LLC in Urgench, producing 30,000 tonnes of basalt insulation boards.

In addition, significant growth in production output was recorded through the optimization of operations at existing enterprises: RVS Optimum LLC increased output 45-fold, Farg‘ona Keramik LLC tripled production, Gret Vol Keramik LLC grew by 2.8 times, Praym Keramiks LLC by 1.4 times, Kvarts JSC by 1.3 times, Ohangaronsement JSC by 1.2 times, and Karakalpak Sement LLC achieved 114% of planned output.

An expanded export geography and a diversified product range allowed Uzbekistan to export goods worth US$244 million in the first few months of this year, a 12% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Over the same period, US$502 million in investments were utilized, of which US$385 million came from direct foreign investment and loans.

As part of the localization program, products worth 900 billion soums were manufactured. Special attention is being given to developing the production of import-substituting materials such as glazed porcelain tiles, basalt mineral fiber, aerated concrete blocks, wallpaper, decorative architectural glass, and other types of construction materials.

For 2025, Uzbekistan plans to produce construction materials worth 50 trillion soums, representing a 15% increase over the previous year. Additionally, exports are expected to grow by 1.4 times, reaching US$1.2 billion.

Under the localization program, it is planned to produce construction materials worth 4.4 trillion soums.

Total investments in the sector this year are projected to reach US$2.4 billion, of which US$1.6 billion will consist of direct foreign investment and loans.
