Uzbekistan plans to limit the speed of cars to 60 km/h

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan intends to limit the speed of vehicles to 60 km/h in all settlements.

This is envisaged by the draft presidential decree on the state program for 2023.

It is expected that the speed limit for cars to 60 km/h will come into force on 1 June 2023.

The draft decree proposes reforming the field of road safety based on the idea "The city is not for cars, but for pedestrians."

Reducing speed should lead to a reduction in road traffic deaths by at least 15%.
