Uzbekistan plans to accelerate work on WTO accession

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to speed up work on accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). This was stated in the draft state program of 2018 "Year of active entrepreneurship, innovative ideas and technologies".

The document said that a program of measures to accelerate the work on WTO accession will be adopted by 1 November 2018.

Within the framework of the new program, a decision will be made on a new composition of the interdepartmental commission, which will deal with issues of accession to the WTO.

The document said that it is planned to prepare proposals on bringing the legislation of Uzbekistan in line with the norms of the organization.

Uzbekistan within the framework of the document will assess the impact of the country’s membership in the WTO. Proposals for institutional reforms will also be developed.
