Uzbekistan Plans Establishment of Regional Cycling Center

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan between the Senate Chairperson, who also heads the Uzbekistan Cycling Federation, Tanzila Narbayeva, and the newly elected President of the Asian Cycling Confederation, Dato Amarjit Singh.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for further expanding cooperation between the Uzbekistan Cycling Federation and the Asian Cycling Confederation, as well as strategies for the development of cycling at regional and international levels.

It was noted that the development of cycling in Uzbekistan remains a priority of national policy. The country has established modern sports infrastructure, and the results of Uzbek athletes on the international stage demonstrate a consistently positive trend.

Special attention was given to the participation of national and para-cycling teams in the Olympic Games and global competitions, highlighting the strong potential of domestic cycling.

As a result of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed. The document provides for the establishment of a regional training and education center in Uzbekistan, the expansion of international competitions within the Asian Cycling Confederation calendar, the implementation of joint specialist training programs, and the promotion of initiatives supporting women’s and para-cycling disciplines.
