Uzbekistan participates in the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhramjon Alloyev, participated in the 10th Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations in Cascais, Portugal.
Forum participants discussed regional and global issues, as well as strategic areas of activity for the Alliance.
In his speech, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the important role of the Alliance in implementing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 and highlighted the successful hosting of a high-level special event on intercultural and inter-civilizational dialogue in September, organized by Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Alliance.
It was also announced that Uzbekistan will host the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference and the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union next year, creating new opportunities to promote ideas of cultural diversity and inter-civilizational dialogue.
