Uzbekistan participates in meeting of SCO Supreme Courts chiefs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of Supreme Court of Uzbekistan Soyunus Gaziev participates in the Ninth meeting of chairpersons of Supreme Court of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, Kazakhstan. The event will be held on 3-5 September.

At the session, the participants will discuss issues of improving and assessing activities of courts, selection and appointment of judges, use of ICT in courts, etc.

They also will consider role of judges of Supreme Courts in fighting terrorism.

It is planned to sign a joint statement of chairpersons of the Supreme Court of the SCO member states on strengthening interaction and partnership to promote rule of law and protection of human rights and freedoms.
