Uzbekistan Parliament Reviews Military Pension Bill

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At a regular session, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reviewed in the first reading the draft law “On State Pension Provision for Military Personnel and Their Family Members.”

The document aims to systematically regulate pension provision for individuals serving in the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as for their family members.

The draft law establishes the legal framework for pension assignment, types, amounts, and procedures for calculation.

It proposes increasing the accounting base from 75% to 100% when calculating the basic pension for military personnel with over 30 years of service, and adjusting the basic pension calculation from tenfold to twelvefold the base amount.

The proposed measures are intended to enhance social protection, provide additional incentives for long-term service, foster patriotic qualities among youth, and increase the attractiveness of a military career.

Deputies noted that adopting the draft law would ensure uniform and stable mechanisms for law enforcement, improve the efficiency of social support for military personnel and their families, and create transparent conditions for regulating pension relations.

The draft law was approved in the first reading.
