Uzbekistan Opens Tender for Bukhara Airport Modernization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government of Uzbekistan, in partnership with Uzbekistan Airports, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, announced the launch of a Request for Qualification (RfQ) for the construction and management of a new Bukhara International Airport under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The project envisions a modern airport complex in the Kumsulton area of Bukhara district, designed to serve both domestic and international flights and become a key regional transport hub.

In 2025, the existing Bukhara International Airport handled 574,036 passengers, with international flights accounting for the majority.

The planned development includes a 48,500 m² passenger terminal, with a capacity of 1,200 passengers per hour for international flights and 400 passengers per hour for domestic routes. The project also includes catering facilities, parking, cargo areas, and a fuel storage complex with a capacity of 8,000 m³.

While the airfield infrastructure will remain under state management, the private partner will be responsible for constructing and operating the passenger terminal and related infrastructure.

Companies with experience in similar airport projects are invited to participate in the tender. Additional information is available via email: tender.info@uzairports.com or phone: +998 55 501‑47‑47 (ext. 4598, 4617).
