Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The official opening ceremony of Uzbekistan’s Investment and Trade Promotion Center was held in Shanghai, the Dunyo news agency reports.

The event brought together representatives from the Shanghai International Trade Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as executives from more than 60 local companies across various industries.

The new center aims to promote information about Uzbekistan’s economic, investment, and export potential, while facilitating direct business ties between the private sectors of both countries.

During the ceremony, participants were introduced to Uzbekistan’s investment landscape, export capabilities, and tourism prospects. Special focus was placed on opportunities in agriculture, manufacturing, green energy, pharmaceuticals, and the IT sector. Attendees also learned about tax, customs, and logistics incentives available to foreign investors.

Speakers emphasized that cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative is creating favorable conditions for strengthening strategic ties between Uzbekistan and China.

Chinese officials described the opening of the Center as an important practical step toward deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two nations. They noted that the Center will serve as a key platform for direct engagement between Uzbek and Chinese enterprises, fostering joint investment projects and expanding bilateral trade volumes.

Several Chinese entrepreneurs currently operating in Uzbekistan shared their positive experiences of doing business in the country, highlighting ongoing improvements in the investment climate.

The event concluded with B2B meetings and consultations, where participants discussed prospective areas of cooperation and exchanged views on future collaboration.
