Uzbekistan Opens Applications for Mortgage Subsidies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will begin accepting applications for participation in its mortgage subsidy program on 16 March at 14:00, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance reported.
In 2026, authorities plan to allocate 30,000 new subsidies totaling 1.17 trillion soums. Of this amount, 900 billion soums will be used to partially cover down payments, while 269.9 billion soums will compensate interest payments.
An additional 1.53 trillion soums will be directed toward covering interest payments on mortgage loans issued between 2021 and 2025. The total projected volume of subsidies is expected to reach 2.7 trillion soums, although the final amount may be adjusted based on proposals from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
In the capital and the New Tashkent area, the maximum refinancing amount will be set at 480 million soums, while in other regions it will reach up to 380 million soums.
Applications can be submitted through public service centers or electronically via the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services (EPIGU) and the MyGov mobile application.
To participate in the program, applicants must score at least 30 points based on social criteria, and neither the applicant nor their spouse may own residential property.
Applicants must also grant participating banks permission to access their credit history through the OneID system.
If personal data sharing is restricted, banks may be unable to assess creditworthiness, which could result in rejection of the subsidy application.
The program is implemented in cooperation with several banks, including Agrobank, Asakabank, Ipoteka-bank, Hamkorbank, Orient Finans Bank, and the People’s Bank, among others.
In February, the OneID system introduced a feature allowing users to restrict access to personal data, enabling them to control the sharing of their PINFL, passport details, tax identification number, driver’s license information, and cadastral numbers.
