Uzbekistan National Team Defender Husniddin Aliqulov to Miss World Cup Due to Serious Injury

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan national team defender Husniddin Aliqulov will miss the World Cup due to a serious injury sustained on 19 January during a Turkish league match for Rizespor against Göztepe.

During the game, Aliqulov had to leave the field, and subsequent medical examinations revealed tears of the anterior cruciate ligament and knee menisci, along with damage to surrounding tissues.

Surgical intervention will be required, followed by a rehabilitation period of approximately six to eight months.

As a result, Aliqulov will be unable to participate in this summer’s World Cup. His absence represents a significant loss for the Uzbekistan national team ahead of one of football’s premier tournaments.
