Uzbekistan Meat Imports Nearly Double to US$157M in Early 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–February 2026, Uzbekistan imported meat products totaling US$156.9 million, nearly double the amount for the same period in 2025, when imports amounted to US$89.2 million, according to the Uzbekistan Customs Committee.
Beef accounted for the largest share of imports. During the first two months of 2026, 25,870 tons of beef worth US$120.89 million were brought into the country, compared to 17,340 tons worth US$68.34 million in January–February 2025.
Poultry imports also increased, reaching 11,230 tons valued at US$13.78 million in 2026, up from 9,130 tons worth US$11.44 million in the same period last year. Lamb imports slightly decreased to 3,300 tons, but their value rose to US$8.15 million.
Growth was observed in meat offal, rising from 3,030 tons (US$2.81 million) in January–February 2025 to 5,480 tons (US$5.94 million) in 2026. Meanwhile, imports of canned meat products decreased in volume from 547.4 tons to 1,100 tons, but their value increased from US$1.72 million to US$4.57 million.
Imports of chicken, duck, and pork also rose, and for the first time, shipments of smoked and salted meat, as well as goose meat, were recorded. Horse meat imports amounted to 68.15 tons valued at US$0.22 million.
