Uzbekistan Limits Online Loans to One per Day
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 22 April 2026, a new regulation will take effect in Uzbekistan limiting the issuance of online loans. According to a resolution by the Central Bank, citizens will be allowed to take only one online loan or microloan per day and only from a single financial institution.
Under the new rules, financial institutions must first verify applicants against the Register of Individuals Prohibited from Entering Credit Agreements.
If multiple applications under the same personal identification number (PINKL) are submitted to different institutions simultaneously, the credit bureau will process only the first application, temporarily ignoring the others until a decision is made.
If the first application is rejected, subsequent applications under the same PINKL may then be reviewed. However, once a loan is approved and issued, all other pending applications are automatically declined.
Additionally, no new applications will be considered under the same PINKL for 24 hours after a loan has been issued. The Central Bank expects these measures to reduce fraud risks and limit excessive debt burdens on citizens.
