Uzbekistan Leads Central Asia in U.S. B1/B2 Visa Denial Rates
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to the 2024 report by the U.S. Department of State, Uzbekistan recorded the highest denial rate in Central Asia for B1/B2 U.S. visas, which are issued for business and tourism purposes. More than half of Uzbek applicants were denied entry.
Specifically, the rejection rate for Uzbek citizens reached 64.41% — the highest in the region.
Turkmenistan ranked second, with a denial rate of 58.80%. Kazakhstan followed in third with 46.29%, while Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan recorded denial rates of 45.24% and 39.14%, respectively.
The U.S. State Department’s data highlights significant disparities in visa approval rates across Central Asia, with Uzbekistan showing the region's highest B1/B2 visa refusal rate in 2024.
