Uzbekistan Launches Nationwide Greening Ahead of Navruz

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In preparation for the 2026 Navruz celebrations, Uzbekistan will organize extensive beautification and greening activities across all regions of the country, in line with the Presidential decree “On the preparation and celebration of the nationwide Navruz holiday in 2026.”

On 13–14 March, a nationwide charitable clean-up, or khashar, will be conducted. Streets, squares, neighborhood areas (mahallas), and public spaces will be cleared of litter, with particular attention paid to the care of trees and greenery.

As part of the national environmental initiative Yashil Makon (“Green Space”), the campaign “I Will Plant a Tree Too” will take place, during which saplings of trees and shrubs will be planted in designated areas.

Citizens are encouraged to actively participate in these efforts, contributing to the improvement of local communities and the expansion of green spaces throughout Uzbekistan.
