Uzbekistan Launches First Synthetic Methane Production Facility
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has launched the country’s first installations for producing synthetic methane, according to Hududgazta’minot JSC.
The pilot project was implemented in the Yangiyobod mahalla of Angren city in the Tashkent region, as part of a collaboration between Hududgazta’minot JSC and the Japanese company ITO Corporation.
The initiative introduced innovative technologies developed by the Japanese partner, enabling methane synthesis through the mixing of propane with air. The produced synthetic gas is already being used to supply fuel to several apartment buildings within the pilot zone.
The project is carried out with the support of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and reflects Uzbekistan’s strategic commitment to adopting energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies.
Hududgazta’minot JSC and ITO Corporation plan to continue their joint efforts to scale up the project and implement advanced technologies throughout the republic.
