Uzbekistan Launches Construction of Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Assembly Plant
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Construction has begun at the ADM Jizzakh plant, part of the ADM group, for a new CKD (Completely Knocked Down) facility that will assemble vehicles powered by new energy sources, including electric and hybrid models, over the coming years.
The start of construction was marked by a symbolic time capsule ceremony, signaling a new stage in the development of Uzbekistan’s automotive industry.
The new plant will cover the full production cycle, including welding, painting, and assembly of NEV (New Energy Vehicle) models from international brands. This initiative is expected to significantly increase local content, implement modern technological processes, and strengthen ADM Jizzakh’s position as a key hub in the country’s automotive sector.
ADM CEO Daniyar Davletyarov emphasized the significance of the project for both the company and the industry: “Together with our partners from China, we are investing in advanced technologies, expanding local assembly, and developing the next generation of vehicles — electric and hybrid models. This project reflects our long-term vision and confidence in the potential of Uzbekistan’s automotive market.”
The CKD plant will form part of ADM’s production cluster and will be equipped with modern facilities for modular assembly of electric vehicles. The project is expected to create new jobs, enhance automation levels, and ensure that the manufactured vehicles meet international quality standards.
