Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Recently, the President paid an official state visit to Kyrgyzstan. It should be noted that constant friendly relations have been established between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
And in the era of globalization, the priority tasks are to receive, analyze and discuss the opinions, proposals and recommendations of experts aimed at further strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, including the study of mutual experience in this area, the development of cooperation.
It is for this purpose that a "round table" was organized on the topic "Uzbekistan - Kyrgyzstan: current state and prospects for cooperation."
The event was attended by senators and deputies, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as members of the Scientific and Expert Council at the Institute for Legislation and Parliamentary Studies and the editorial board of the periodical " Bulletin of Problems of Legislation”, as well as representatives of the media.
Chair of the Senate Committee on Women and Gender Equality Malika Kadirkhanova, Deputy Chair of the Senate Committee on Development of the Aral Sea Region and Ecology Batyr Matmuratov, Deputy Chair of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security Talibjon Madumarov and member of the Committee on International relations, foreign economic relations, foreign investments and tourism Anvar Tuychiev attended the event.
In particular, during the event it was noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in 1993, mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation has been established, the visit of the head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan on 26-27 January is of great importance.
In turn, Senator A. Tuychiev stressed that Uzbekistan is conducting open, constructive, based on mutual interest reforms in foreign policy, in relations with foreign countries, primarily with neighboring states, which, in turn, contributes to the creation of a new political environment in the Central Asian region, is reflected in inter-parliamentary relations. Inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is developing dynamically, covering various areas.
M. Kadirkhanova also focused on the results of activities carried out jointly by the two parliaments on ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of women in all areas, their comprehensive support and gender equality.
After the speeches, the presentation of the collection “Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic”, prepared by the Institute for Legislation and Parliamentary Studies, took place. It was noted that this collection reflects the results of studies on the specifics of the activities of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, its apparatus, committees and other structures, the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the "round table", which took the form of an active discussion, the tasks on the issues under discussion were determined, which should be implemented in the future.
