Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 17 June 2021, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva met with Deputy Torag of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Kasymaliyeva.
The sides discussed issues of protecting the rights and interests of women, including within the framework of the implementation of the Dialogue Action Plan for the period of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship. The activities planned for implementation in the second half of this year, as well as the participation of women leaders of Kyrgyzstan in them, were discussed.
A. Kasymalieva highly appreciated the ongoing large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan, including those to ensure gender equality, that in Uzbekistan attention is paid to all areas of women’s entrepreneurship. The recently held International Forum "Expanding Economic Empowerment of Women for Sustainable Development in Central Asia and Afghanistan" has become a platform for exchanging views and best practices on the development of women’s entrepreneurship.
The parties also considered issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation for the development and deepening of bilateral political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations.
Noting the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary interaction, the parties confirmed their readiness for regular exchanges of visits at various levels, stressed the importance of constant dialogue, holding joint events with the participation of parliamentarians in the field of science, education, tourism, culture and sports, programs to preserve and promote common values and traditions ... As well as coordination of actions and promotion of joint initiatives within the UN, IPU, OSCE PA, IPA CIS and other international organizations.
The parties stressed that strengthening inter-parliamentary ties will serve the development of interstate relations and increase the well-being of the people of the two countries.
