Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13-14 December, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzsuvtaminot Joint Stock Company Khurshid Rakhmatullaev and Chief Specialist of the Secretariat for Integrated Development of Territories, Communications, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Cabinet of Ministers Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Klichkhanov paid an official visit to the Korea Water Resources Corporation ("K-water") Academy.
This was the second visit of representatives of Uzsuvtaminot JSC to Korea to discuss the idea of creating a National Water Academy in Uzbekistan. Earlier, in 2020, the First Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Board of Uzsuvtaminot JSC, Sahib Saifnazarov, had already visited Korea to discuss this issue.
The purpose of this visit is to study the agenda of the Korean-Uzbek Forum before the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Korea on 16-18 December.
During the visit, the members of the delegation got acquainted with a detailed presentation on the HRD system of the K-Water Academy, and also examined the educational infrastructure, including a training center, a water distribution network center, and a pilot water treatment plant. Also, within the framework of the visit, Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water), Shin Dong-A Electronics Co., LTD and Uzsuvtaminot JSC signed a Protocol of Discussions on a pilot project providing for the installation of smart meters in Uzbekistan.
The objectives of this project are accounting for water use through smart technologies in the field of water supply in Uzbekistan, improving the capacity in the field of operational management of Uzsuvtaminot JSC and improving the professional competencies of employees. The project area includes the Mirabad district of Tashkent city.
In addition, K-Water held a seminar to discuss the implementation of a further action plan for the implementation of a specialized training program in the field of water supply and sanitation in Uzbekistan.
Undoubtedly, this visit will contribute to further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea in the field of water supply.
