Uzbekistan Joins 70th UN Commission on Women Session

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is taking part in the 70th anniversary session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, held in New York, USA.

As part of the event, Uzbek representatives are participating in a series of international meetings and high-level events.

During the ministerial “roundtable” on “Ensuring and Strengthening Access to Justice for All Women and Girls” and the interactive dialogue “Bridging the Gaps: Ensuring Justice for All Women and Girls,” the delegation presented the results of ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at expanding women’s access to justice and reinforcing gender equality principles within the judicial system.

Uzbek representatives also took part in plenary sessions, thematic discussions, and a series of international meetings organized as part of the session.

Information was shared on the measures implemented in Uzbekistan to support women, protect their rights and legal interests, and enhance their role and participation in public and political life.

During the visit, several bilateral meetings were held. Notably, the Uzbek delegation met with representatives from Kazakhstan to discuss prospects for further cooperation in protecting women’s rights, promoting gender equality, increasing women’s economic and social participation, and strengthening family institutions.

The meeting concluded with agreements to continue constructive engagement, exchange experiences, and organize joint initiatives in support of women’s empowerment.
