Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to discuss the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo has established a permanent dialogue with the Embassy of Japan in Tashkent, the embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo reported.

As part of this practice, online negotiations were held with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama.

During the videoconference, mutual interest was expressed in further expanding the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral cooperation, which was given a powerful impetus by the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019.

They discussed the state of implementation of the agreements reached during the high-level visit, the progress in the development of joint bilateral projects, a number of events planned for the coming months, and an exchange of views on the possibilities of further building up cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, especially in trade, economic, financial and technical and investment areas.

An agreement was reached on the joint study of all bilateral measures aimed at strengthening the dynamics of ties between the two countries.
