Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is ready to use the Sputnik Light single-component vaccine. This was reported by RIA Novosti citing the head of the service of sanitary and epidemiological welfare and public health (SES) of Uzbekistan, Bakhodir Yusupaliev.

Bakhodir Yusupaliev noted that the country is ready to use Sputnik Light as well. “I see no obstacles,” he added.

According to him, single-dose drugs are very convenient and "ideally, it would be very useful to come to single-dose vaccines."

“I think we need to expand the range of vaccines. The pandemic is still here, the more vaccines and access there are, the more effective the vaccination system will work,” Yusupaliev added.

Uzbekistan began vaccination of the population against coronavirus on 1 April. Residents of the country can be vaccinated with ZF-UZ-VAC2001, Sinovac, Sputnik V, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Pfizer / BioNTech vaccines.
